Welcome to Clifton Lodge School
Everything we do is geared around helping your child to be their best.
We are Clifton Lodge, a small prep school based in Ealing, caring for children aged 3 to 11 years old. we use the word small on purpose – we see 'small' as our biggest advantage; our size allows us to provide an environment which makes our children feel safe, secure, comfortable and at home. We see that as being instrumental to laying great foundations for personal wellbeing, the ability to thrive, which in turn leads to achievement.
Children are taught by a team of hard working and dedicated staff who pull out all the stops to ensure each child’s needs are catered to.
But don’t just take our word for it. Take the word, instead, of the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate who visited us recently and decided to award the school their highest accolade of double “Excellent” in both the academic and personal development of the children. Take the words of our parents who have described Clifton Lodge as “kind and nurturing,” “welcoming and caring,” “the best possible learning environment” and a school which “builds confidence” and “pushes academically.”

FACILITIES & LOCATION
An environment that makes all feel welcome
Our school is located in an extended double-fronted Victorian home in Ealing, close to the centre and only 10 minutes walk from Ealing Broadway Station (Elizabeth Line, Central and District Lines). There is ample parking (payment by phone or by meter) directly across the road, opposite the school.
The school provides a wonderful range of facilities to enhance pupils’ learning. Our classrooms are bright and fully equipped, including a science lab and art studio.
A large playground with a canopied area gives pupils much needed space for play, events, assemblies and PE. In addition we are sited opposite Walpole Park which we regularly use for outdoor learning.

Our Reception Class recently went on a Spring Walk to Walpole Park to search for Mini-Beasts! Each child had a clip board and was tasked with searching and ticking off on their worksheet as many Mini Beasts as they could find. The Class enthusiastically looked in the different habitats around the park and had great success in their hunt.
The children said:
Victor: "I really enjoyed looking for minibeasts."
Leo: "We went to our secret hide out to look for bugs!"
Riko: "Wow we found so many!"

Our Year 3 & 4 pupils are enjoying a wonderful residential trip at PGL Liddington. Yesterday afternoon they had a great time on the giant swing and learned archery. In the evening the children took part in a fun activity, completing different tasks which ended with each team throwing a water balloon at the PGL Group Leader! Needless to say, they really enjoyed it and the day ended with delicious hot chocolate.

On Monday our Year 1 & 2 classes visited the Barbican to see a wonderful concert `The Pirates are coming`. Ms Bak, our Art Teacher was very pleased to hear afterwards that Year 1 had been noticing and describing the different buildings that they saw on their way to the Barbican. They were remembering their recent learning of architecture and pointed out the different features that they saw and liked.
Isabella – “We saw many windows and designs and there were some strange windows. There were sculptures made from metal. We also saw buildings with arches."

"I liked listening to the different beat and rhythm in each song." (Yuna)
"I enjoyed interacting with the orchestra by shouting out and doing actions when the Pirates were coming!" (Dominic)
"I liked the music that the orchestra was playing when we were acting out different things." (Max)
"I liked how the instruments went loud, soft, fast and slow for different parts of the show." (Mikael)
"I liked it when the different boats and ships were appearing in the ocean and we had to raise the alarm, but then we discovered they were not pirate ships." (Caspian)
"I liked when the orchestra were playing beautiful music." Bella.
"I enjoyed when we were doing the actions preparing the ship for the arrival of the pirates!" Adi.
"It was fun when the pirates finally came and we were scared but in the end we realised they are our friends." Borna.

To conclude British Science Week the children and their teachers had the chance to present their wonderful posters on the theme of ‘Change and Adapt’ at an assembly today. In addition, during the week each class was tasked with gathering height data of each pupil and presenting them in different formats. The children were really imaginative using everything from marbles to string in order to showcase their results.
A big thank you to Mr Bush for a wonderful Science Week and well done to all our pupils, your poster designs have been so inspiring.

The Carbon Sugar Experiment demonstrated how molecules can change and adapt over time. The children were very engaged and asked lots of questions.
