A safe and nurturing environment
Our Nursery's main goal is to provide an environment where children can feel emotionally safe and secure.
The children are supported by kind, caring staff who introduce the EYFS curriculum with differentiated work for each child to ensure they are taught at the appropriate level for their ability.
There is a strong focus on numeracy and literacy, especially reading. In addition, there is specialist teaching in French, Music and Sports and a focus on character and independence through Forest School.
Curriculum
Giving your child the best possible start
Children join from the age of 3 with dedicated, caring staff in an inviting classroom. The small class size enables individual and personalised learning. Work is clearly differentiated with each child taught at the appropriate level for their ability. Pupils are introduced to learning through a mixture of adult and child-led activities covering the EYFS expectations with a strong focus on reading.
Children benefit from specialist teachers for French, Music and Sports.
There is plenty of Art and Crafts which develops creative flair. The Nursery children take part in school events such as the annual Nativity Play and Spring Concert. Free play is incorporated to ensure all our children thrive through using their imagination and learning to share.
The learning process in our nursery, which is carefully embedded into every session, ensures that by the time our children move on into Reception they have a true love of learning.
French
Nursery and Reception children receive French lessons once a week with a specialist teacher. The language is introduced through learning to speak French words and phrases via games and songs.
Sports
Sport is taught once a week in the safety of our main playground by specially trained coaches from Ealing Trailfinders. Skills and team games are taught, providing exercise, fun and the opportunity to meet and exceed the goals for Physical Activity in the EYFS expectations.
The sporting highlight of the year is the School Sports Day held in June which everyone takes part in to represent their House.
Music
Pupils in Nursery enjoy a Music lesson taught by our specialist teacher every week. The youngest children learn to engage with music through song, movement and sensory activities.
As their skills develop, they learn about the musical elements, responding to music through movement, playing percussion instruments and singing. There is also a visiting peripatetic teacher to individually teach piano.
Forest School
Our pupils in Nursery have a wonderful opportunity to experience Forest School in our local Lammas Park.
A specially trained teacher takes them for weekly sessions where they are able to explore their environment and learn more about it in focused activities.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR, CLUBS & TRIPS
Outside the classroom
Nursery pupils benefit from attending Forest School in a purpose built section of Lammas park. Trips at the beginning of the academic year are focussed on our local area. Later in the school year, as they gain in confidence and abilities they are able to go further afield to support their learning.
There are 2 extra-curricular clubs a week run by the EYFS staff which pupils can be signed up to. Ballet Lessons with our Ballet Teacher who visits the school each Wednesday are available at an extra cost. Clubs change each term and are run after school until 4.15pm.
After school care is available each day until 6pm.
