Welcome to Clifton Lodge School
Everything we do is geared around helping your child to be their best.
We are Clifton Lodge, a small prep school based in Ealing, caring for children aged 3 to 11 years old. we use the word small on purpose – we see 'small' as our biggest advantage; our size allows us to provide an environment which makes our children feel safe, secure, comfortable and at home. We see that as being instrumental to laying great foundations for personal wellbeing, the ability to thrive, which in turn leads to achievement.
Children are taught by a team of hard working and dedicated staff who pull out all the stops to ensure each child’s needs are catered to.
But don’t just take our word for it. Take the word, instead, of the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate who visited us recently and decided to award the school their highest accolade of double “Excellent” in both the academic and personal development of the children. Take the words of our parents who have described Clifton Lodge as “kind and nurturing,” “welcoming and caring,” “the best possible learning environment” and a school which “builds confidence” and “pushes academically.”

FACILITIES & LOCATION
An environment that makes all feel welcome
Our school is located in an extended double-fronted Victorian home in Ealing, close to the centre and only 10 minutes walk from Ealing Broadway Station (Elizabeth Line, Central and District Lines). There is ample parking (payment by phone or by meter) directly across the road, opposite the school.
The school provides a wonderful range of facilities to enhance pupils’ learning. Our classrooms are bright and fully equipped, including a science lab and art studio.
A large playground with a canopied area gives pupils much needed space for play, events, assemblies and PE. In addition we are sited opposite Walpole Park which we regularly use for outdoor learning.

Our Year 5 class, who have been learning about “Romeo and Juliet”, thoroughly enjoyed their trip to @the_globe (Shakespeare`s Globe Theatre) . They were able to experience a tour of the outside and inside of the theatre which included learning when it was built (and rebuilt). The pupils found out what it was made from and why and why it was designed in such a way. From there the class attended a lively action workshop based on the prologue of the play. The children were wonderful representatives of both the school and their families. We are proud of their efforts and commitment to the school value Optime – they gave of their best.
Here are some quotes from children:
• Ayla: “It was an amazing experience to see the new Globe Theatre, a replica of the original. I enjoyed seeing the zodiac paintings on the roof of the stage and learning what this meant for plays.”
• Megumi: “I liked learning about the Globe Theatre and listening to our instructor. I also enjoyed the activities!”
• Blake: “My favourite part was seeing how decorated the inside of the theatre was. I was surprised by this: it looks old on the outside but is so pretty on the inside.”
• Billy: “I loved it! I think the trip is good for everyone! My favourite part was seeing and learning about the English Oak pillars on the stage.”

We are excited to share some wonderful news from our School Council and Eco-Committee! Both groups have been working together to enhance our school garden and promote sustainability.
So far, they have planted a variety of fruits and vegetables, including cherry tomatoes, radishes, and strawberries. Additionally, beautiful flowers such as daffodils and tulips have been added to brighten the space. We are hopeful that the produce grown in the garden will be used in our school lunches in the near future.
As part of their efforts to support local wildlife, the team has also added a bird feeder to the garden. We`re thrilled to report that we`ve already had visits from Parakeets and Bluetits, which is a great sign of a thriving natural environment.
We’re so proud of the work the School Council and Eco-Committee have done and look forward to seeing the positive impact this has on our school community.

Our pupils at @cliftonlodgeschool were introduced to the Global Canvas 2025 Art Competition in their Art lessons. This is an annual international art contest run by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation @dswfwildlife to encourage creativity from young people, displaying thought and concern for our planet’s environment and the incredible wildlife that inhabits it.
We had some wonderful entries and subsequently, to celebrate and share the effort of all those taking part, the Eco committee asked the children to bring their projects into school, to showcase them as a part of an Eco-committee assembly. Well done to you all, we were so impressed by your creativity and art skills 🙂

Last week, our Nursery class visited Ealing Fire Station as part of their `People Who Help Us` topic. The children were excited and engaged as they explored the Fire Station and met the firefighters. The highlight of the visit was when the firefighters showed the children the fire trucks and explained the different equipment they use to keep us safe.
The children eagerly asked questions about how the fire trucks work, and the firefighters gave clear and simple explanations. Some children even had the opportunity to try on firefighter helmets and jackets, which they absolutely loved!
This outing provided an excellent opportunity for the children to connect the concept of `People Who Help Us` with real-life heroes in our community. They were fascinated by the equipment and loved hearing about the firefighters` work, and some even talked about wanting to be firefighters themselves one day!

We celebrated Chinese New Year at Clifton Lodge yesterday with a wonderful themed lunch and activities in the classrooms.
In Year 3 the pupils learned how different countries around the world celebrate the Lunar New Year.
The children designed a snake as it is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese Zodiac.
Finally, Chuhang’s mother shared some beautiful New Year posters with the class which they used to decorate the classroom.
